STUDIES & TRIALS

Help advance hair and scalp research

FHI conducts and collaborates on selected clinical, observational, measurement and consumer studies examining how hair and scalp conditions change, how interventions perform, and how outcomes can be measured more reliably.

Computerized phototrichogram showing individual hairs marked for measurement and counting.
Fluorescence microscopy of hair follicles showing GFP-labelled signalling activity.
From follicle stem-cell signalling to objective clinical measurementWnt signalling in hair-follicle stem cells and computerized phototrichogram analysis.

Areas of study

  • Clinical trials and prospective studies

Oral, topical, device, procedural, combination, and experimental approaches.

  • Hair and scalp change over time

Observational and longitudinal studies of hair loss, recovery, recurrence, treatment response, and scalp change.

  • Cosmetic and consumer-use research

Hair quality, appearance, tolerability, usability, and consumer-reported outcomes.

  • Measurement, imaging, and validation

Standardized photography, trichoscopy, phototrichograms, hair counting, longitudinal comparison, data validation, and AI-supported image analysis.

  • Defined health and lifestyle associations

Selected health and lifestyle factors studied in relation to specified hair and scalp outcomes.

What participation may involve

Depending on the study, participation may involve questionnaires, clinic or remote visits, standardized photography, trichoscopy or phototrichogram measurement, use of a study product or device, and scheduled follow-up. Some studies are observational and do not involve treatment.

Each study has its own eligibility, consent, privacy, schedule, location, and participation requirements. Registering interest does not guarantee eligibility or constitute consent to participate.
